About Bath and the Venue
The beautiful city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre known for its historical honey-coloured Georgian architecture portrayed in many films and TV series. It is built around the meandering Avon river and on seven hills that provide a stunning backdrop wherever your eye wanders.
The city centre is surprisingly compact and easy to navigate on foot for a chance to discover some of its many highlights such as the world famous Roman Baths, the remarkable sweep of the Royal Crescent, the iconic circle of 18th century buildings known as the Circus, Pulteney Bridge over the weir leading to the imposing Great Pulteney Street, or the more modern shopping areas of Southgate and the many pedestrians streets full of attractive shops and restaurants.
Our venue is located in the famed Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution on the elegant Queen Square, just a few minutes walk from the Crescent, the Circus and the Jane Austen Centre but also close to the heart of the city with easy access to some of the best restaurants such as Emberwood or the Scallop Shell, pubs and wine bars on the Square or in neighbouring George Street, coffee shops and fashion shops on Milsom Street and New Bond Street. A gentle stroll down Union Street will show you everything Bath has to offer.
Long term parking is easy at the Charlotte Street Car Park, a 5 minutes walk to Queen Square. And there are several available hotels in close distance such as The Francis (on Queen Square itself), the Harington’s, the Gainsborough, the Z Hotel, Apex, DoubleTree, Hampton and more. A stay in Bath is in itself an unforgettable experience.
